Gaga & The Coco&&Breezy Effect

As we had a surge of unexpected Gaga mania last week as the pop superstar was seen in the Philippines in our Adri-O sunglasses, we couldn't help but find the sunglasses pictured above to bear a striking resemblance to our Onassis frames customized by Coco&&Breezy -which Lady Gaga wore in her 'Marry the Night' video.

So call it a happy coincidence if you will as the designing duo and Selima Optique collaborators were tapped by a collaborator of Gaga's, Beyonce, to appear in her video for 'Party' this past fall!

France's Modzik magazine can't seem to get enough of pieces from Selima's vintage eyewear archive as highlights from the range keep popping up in issue after issue...

Slices of Inspiration: Eyeglass Chandeliers

These genius lighting fixtures featuring reused eyewear caught our eye has they make for a purposeful yet statement making touch to just about any room and are full of humor matched with a distinctively cool attitude.

Above, most likely the easiest fixture to consider creating yourself, this design consists of 18 sunglasses spiraling around a basic light fixture.

Look at how cool this lamps shade is as it is composed of 40 mirrored aviator sunglasses and boasts an arm as a light switch -how very clever!

On the Road: Selima in Korea & Japan Part 1

Selima is in Asia as our stockists and friends at Tokyo's Globe Specs are hosting a Selima Optique trunkshow this weekend and sent us these snapshots from her travels on the road...

Models (above) at the 2012 S/S Fashion Show held in the Galleria Timeworld show off sunglasses from Selima Optique in Korea.

While in Japan, Selima's hotel swimming pool has offered her a new meditative morning ritual.

Here, a reunion at Bear Pond, a favorite espresso bar.

First stop in Tokyo as always; Bear Pond Espresso for the best coffee! Katsu (above) says 'no pictures allowed' except for Selima as they are working on the Barista Project -details to come!

As a complete yet fun surprise, Selima ran into some four-legged friends in Tokyo! Unfortunately they were not interested in the sunglasses she offered them and is now thinking of developing a line just for goats - an untapped market indeed!

What was that all about Lady Gaga in Manila?

Lady Gaga has recently caused a stir upon arrival in the Phillipines where protesters urged officials to cancel her two sold out concerts. But leave it to the confidant nature of Lady Gaga that amidst the commotion and blaring gaze from the paparazzi, she remains authoritatively calm, cool and collected in a pair of Selima Optique Adri-O sunglasses... which we assume probably came pretty handy at the time!

Still fans need not worry as the musician humorously stated "And don't worry, if I get thrown in jail in Manila, Beyonce will just bail me out" on her Twitter account.

Whatever your take on Lady Gaga may be, we applaud her sense of grace under fire...

From Pinterest comes this latest inspirational find featuring a pair of brilliantly executed tribal inspired customized eyewear that caught our eye in amazement immediately.

And although this gentleman's pair of frames are purely decorative, their rich beading and riotous hues make them hands-down one of the coolest frames we've seen in quite some time.
