As well as an eyewear designer, Selima Salaun is a collector of vintage accessories. Salaun derives significant inspiration for her eyewear from her impressive collection of vintage accessories and glasses. Her collection of vintage eyewear is arguably one of the world's largest. For those that can't get enough of Selima Salaun's style, there will be an opportunity to hear her accessories design perspective live at IAC's 15th Annual Fashion Conference, as she will be a guest on the panel "The Main Event: Icons, Iconoclasm, and Innovation in Fashion and Accessories Design," from 4:15-5:00. Selima Salaun Interview, BFM Business France

Recently, Selima Salaun had the honor of meeting with BFM France's Sabrina Quagliozzi for an in-depth interview that touched on the company's roots, vision of Selima Optique, Selima's inspirations, goals & more.

From the growing children's market, to the year's fascination with cat-eyes to our humble beginnings in Soho as the neighborhood's first & only optical shop, the segment takes in our company's rich 20 year(almost there!) history while contemplating the future.

Highlights included Quagliozzi's surprise at the fact that when celebrities wear our glasses, they are wearing them on their own account, not due to any form of courting along with the fact that she refers to Selima as the 'Queen of eyewear.' A compliment that couldn't make us any more proud of Selima!

Initiative of Art & Culture's Fashion Conference: 'One of a Kind'

Earlier this month our very own Selima Salaun was honored to represent the luxury eyewear industry at the Initiative of Art & Culture's 14th annual fashion conference entitled "One of a Kind," which focused on celebrating the extraordinary individuality, integrity, and innovation in fashion.

Selima was a key speaker at the Main Event: "A discussion on Accessories" panel and was in the company of Maria Cornejo, Erin Beatty, Mary McFadden, Nicole Phelps, Robert Lees Morris, Valerie Steele and Tracey Reese, among others. She spoke on the history of our company, what drives her and why the idea of something truly "one of a kind" will always have an unbeatable resonance in the marketplace.

Among the discussion was the goal of addressing "what makes something one of a kind" while looking back at fashion history and considering the contributions of iconic individuals playing critical roles in defining modern fashion.

Following the event conference attendees were treated to receptions at both Robert Lee Morris and Selima Optique Soho where the inspirational topics of the day had revelers in a festive mood.
